    Default Crappie this time!

Took the atv back to the same spot I fished yesterday. After catching a few whites I decided to move down the bank and drop a jig straight down into a submerged tree. 16th ounce jig. Bobby garland pink and chartreuse, dipped straight down in about 4 feet of water nd BANG. Wound up keeping 6 decent crappie. All females with eggs. Released 4 smalls that I believe were also females. All in all a good evening! I’m kinda liking this simple fishing stuff. Left the boat at the house, a pole and a pocket full of jigs is all I’ve got. Loving it.

Sometimes a quick trip it is better to go light instead of spending all your time messing with a boat !

Tried it again tonight just before dark. Caught 5 crappie in 5 mins and then no bites for the next hour. Guess I whacked em all for today. It’s really fun to walk down the bank and start catching them immediately while the guys in the bass boats stare. I’m usually the guy in the boat trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong.
