    Default Bait shop newbies


    Went to pick up some minnows so grandson could bank fish from pond today and shop was packed with many young moms, grandparents, etc with kids looking for activities to do. One lady asked me “ how many dozen crickets do I usually buy?” Lol. I thought it was great to see folks out trying something new and bet some young anglers get hooked because of this pandemic.

    Been seeing tons of people buying fishing gear at the stores and camping and fishing here at Nimrod. Lots of kids riding bikes in the parks also. Heard a radio DJ say she say a father and child playing catch in their yard. Something she said she can't remember the last time she saw that.

    The free fishing without a license probably has a little to do with it.

    I only see them sold by the tube.

    Folks walk in and say “gimme a full tube of crickets and 2 dozen bass minners” and you just know they’re gonna catch somethin!
