Default Wind Wind and more Wind

Well who all has been fighting the wind in an attempt tp fish ? Last two days been brutal to say the least . All the waves crashing into the boat sending the fish running . Only caught 18 yesterday but caught a limit today inspite of the swells . I saw way less suspended crappie and more on cover but after catching one on a brush pile the most of them left . At least with livescope you can see them leave . Funny how spooky they are right now in 10' to 12' and have seen them at times never move when I run into cover in 5' deep .

Yes that wind has been messing with me last 2 days, and I suppose today!
It is crazy how spooky the fish can be!
Saw a nice tree, fish 20’ down, got within 20’, poof they left.
Other times right on top of them and they don’t leave.
No real pattern to spooking them, just different days.

I went to the CACA tournament weigh-in yesterday on Overcup and the anglers there said the same thing. They were really spooky. But several teams still managed a 2+ pound average, with 1st being 17.0 pounds and 3.31 pounds for big fish. So at least they were getting 7 fish to bite.

I've been out in the typhoons. It seems to be feast or famine. No limits but I can usually get a few to bite.

I lived in Kansas for a while, a 20 mph wind there is just a gentle breeze. The trick to fishing up there was to launch the boat before daylight and quit by 10 or 11 when the wind came up.

My son and I went to Wister yesterday and fought it.....but, the fish there were not spooky at all and I was able to spot lock over them. Caught a limit and had a great time!

Do you think it is the wave action slapping the boat that is spoiling them off? I remember a few years ago, a company came out with some kid of cloth padding that you strapped to the bow of the boat to reduce noise. I haven’t seen one of those or heard of anyone using one in a while.

I know the ones I see in open water real spooky but those on cover not as bad . I was fishing with WSD yesterday . He stepped down to go weigh a Crappie . One on the screen left in a hurry. I know sometimes , even more in clear water boat slap will run them off . Thought about trying a strip of carpet to deaden wave slap on the bow of my boat . Be a lot cheaper than what your talking about .
