I’d love to go! But I have to be in Dallas (puke) next week.

Nimrod has been catching crappie longer than most of the electronics have been on the market. He still uses his ability to find cover and has numerous crappie holes and beds. He uses livescope (in my opinion) to 1st eliminate the spots that arn't holding fish, and when he finds spots that are, then he can use different presentations to put the bait in front of their nose.
Yes. And eliminating where the fish are not is a huge factor. I’m using a entry-level Garmin FF and I’m not sure I trust it. I seem to do just as well judging where fish should be based on experience.
Primarily.... I’m just venting. I’ll catch fish on an upcoming trip & I’ll be happy again. Until then I’m disgruntled.

You can have the best technic with the best bait and be were where the fish aren't and you won't do any good. Other side of that is be where the fish are and you will catch some.
Lakes that are flooded are hard to fish in my opinion. It is a learning process and flooded water makes that hard I think.
Trust your fish finder you have and just ride and look for bait then fish and then start fishing. I don't have side imagining and I don't even wet a hook unless it's the spawn until I see fish.
I hope this helps. We took a fall trip last October and everybody there said it was slow. We ended the trip with 62 crappie over 11 inches and 5 over 14. All you have to do is figure out one thing and build on that. Like working a puzzle.
But don't get discouraged in that flooded water.

I used to love duckhunting at Dave Donaldson until it got so damn crowded! Good luck with the fish!
Loop knot hang in there.
If you want to up your odds , this works for me. - I try to plan my time on the water with a south wind ahead of weather changes.
Good luck

I record every trip I go in a notebook and look back on it a lot. Most of the time I can rely on it if conditions are similar. I see you started keeping notes too. I've been doing it for about 10 years and it sure improved my fishing a lot.I have learned a lot just by joining this forum. The fishermen on here are are always willing to help and I can't thank them enough so Thanks Guys. I do have SI and DI but not had it very long. Hope this helps some.
A buddy and I will fish a lake all day long and not get hardly anything. Using fish finders, trolling, jigging and spider rig. I mean get skunked. Then I’ll go to a local place around here and find a limb down and catch 14. Go back a week later and nothing. Sometimes they just bite and you hit the honey hole. Other times (more often then not) it sucks lol
