Thread: Catch and release is my resolution for 2020

I keep around 10/15% of my catch & release the rest. I love the 10-12" size for cooking, all big ones go back.

I prefer 10-12” eaters, always turn the big ones loose.

Electric bill must be very high running all them freezers keep releasing them.

You can always take what's legal . I will even fillet them for our buddy .

Glad to see you come around. Now if some these others would do the same thing it would help some of the smaller lakes out.

This 30 fish limit and spider rigging is hurting some small lakes . This livescope could increase pressure if guys learn to use them. But still a few lakes that are over populated to the point growth is slowed . I have been discussing this with folks at AGFC . Hopefully we can figure out how to help the lakes that are overcrowded with small fish .

I commend you for cutting back Nimrod. No reason to set a new world record every year for the most harvest crappie by one angler. The only down side is all those neighbors and friends you used to give fish to, might get mad at you! Ha ha ha!

In all seriousness, I hope more crappie anglers start throwing some back (sport fishing) with the increase in technology and technique. I’m not saying it isn’t alright to harvest a limit. Just no reason to do it every time you go. Just my opinion.

What he said . People know you can catch a bunch of crappie....no longer a need to have to prove it to everyone every time out
