Oops, you are certainly correct, Prairie Creek is on Beaver Lake where I used to fish when I was a young fellow coaching football in Bentonville. I was in Pierce Creek.

Well, I went back yesterday and fished in the north central area of the lake. got on a brush pile in 6.5 ft. of water and caught 38 in about 3 hours without ever changing spots. Almost everyone of them was 9 3/4". Not 1 keeper in the bunch. Gonna have to keep fishing those trees till i find the "magic trees" that Crappie Pro always talked about.

Were they black crappie? I have had a lot of reports of loads of sub-legal black crappie being caught this summer. Don’t worry, when the water temps cool off and the Shad start moving, the bigger fish will show back up.

yes Matt, all were blacks. Went again yesterday from 8:45 till 5:15. Same scoop - 6 ft. of water, fished a ft. off bottom in shade over brush close to some cypress. No monsters, but did put 7 keepers in the boat - all blacks.

anything from Conway less than 13" is a dink.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
