Default Beaten by the ole Beaver

Got skunked this morning on the ol beaver pushing jigs and minners. Found a few stacked up in 26fow but couldn't get them to bite. Did have some green backs and cats play havoc with the spider poles.......exciting and frustrating all at the same time. Probably should've went to shooting docks but didn't want to stick around long enough to switch out.

saw some pulling cranks have a little luck.

I took my boat out on Beaver to test some repairs for about an hour this afternoon. I stopped and fished a couple docks and caught a couple in about 18fow. The humidity was brutal today.

It sure beats working. Going to have to try Beaver one of these days. Probably after I retire.

I was thinking about fishing there Friday of next week. I've got to be in Bella Vista Thursday and thought I might bring my boat and spend the night and fish at least Friday morning. But I've never fished it before so it would probably be a long shot for any success.

I can’t speak from personal experience but of the guys I’ve talked to are having best luck either trolling cranks or shooting docks.

You can also catch them on deep brush tops, not really stacked up so you have to stay on the move. We haven't fished a lot this summer but the last few trips we were catching at least thirty or fourty shorts to cull down to limits. Pretty hot and muggy out so we have probably spent as much time in the water as we have fishing.

Thanks RL. I think I can be off work this weekend and the temps show to be dropping a little to just be hot. I think I’ll try to go back for redemption. I had went to another lake and pushed jigs with nibbles for pretty good success. May try that first and then switch to minners or dock shots. I hope to report back with a good report. Worst case I end up in the water and searching for those deep brush.
