I haven't crossed the river yet but I usually make a couple of trips a year. Nothing like watching my wife's face when she brings one of those hogs into the boat. Nothing like watching her face when she has to throw back about 10 in a row that are about 11 3/4 inches long either. She'll measure them 2 or 3 times sometimes to try and get them over 12 inches. LOL

They look like trophy fish, and to think about the filets that you’re missing out on!! That’s what gets me. I try and try to get them to measure out, but it never works.

I know! I usually tell people that everytime I'm dragging one into the boat I'm licking my lips just thinking about when I'm going to eat them. But on the Big 4 that's a recipe for chapped lips, and then out of nowhere, you drag in a hog and life is good again.

Wow those are some good ones. When we lived in Jonesboro we fished the big four a lot. Usually the bigger fish came from Arkabutla or Grenada but better numbers on Sardis. I can remember on some days being number twenty at the holiday lodge ramp, even at daylight. It didnt seem like the crowds were as big at the ramps on clear creek or Pats bluff.

I'm the same way but then I remind myself that those filets could cost me about $400 per pound (1/3 pound of filets off that fish @ $140 fine for a short fish).
