It has been crowded on most lakes this spring . Not just weekends . I never saw so many Crappie fishermen !
Hello all, I have been fishing lake brewer for the last 7 years, Its a great fishery and i'm lucky to live 10 minutes from it. There has been three times this year when both the ramps were out of parking. last week my kayak was almost swamped by a fishing boat that was way to close. Then not ten minutes later i hear the roar of a big v8 ski boat heading right at me. I just wonder how much pressure a small lake like brewer can sustain before it starts getting hard to fish. I use to be able to go out there in the week days and easily catch any species of fish i wanted. this year has been a different story.

A ski boat? Hopefully they weren't skiing. I saw a kayak about get swamped 2 wks ago at Dardanelle. A high school bass team came within feet of him wide open. We were spider rigging a cove about 15-20' off the bank and they came right between us and the bank fishing. I figured their coach/guide would have had enough sense to have em go around, nope!

Last spring we conducted a spring season angler creel survey on Brewer. It had three times the pressure (angler hours) than did lake Barnett over the same time period. The majority of anglers were chasing bass.

I will take a vacation day to go during the mid week before I go on the weekend. Too many somewhat "local" Cavemen just burning gas, buzzing around and sometimes never even put their trolling motor down. A few just show up and rip from one end of the other for an hour and leave. I wish they would do that crap on the river instead.
SHHhh!!!
