Thread: Lake pickthorne

Anyone have any tips to catch some good size crappie in this lake? All I’ve caught are dink’s. A few years ago I pulled out some 17 1/2 inchers. I’m not sure if it’s just over fished or the fish have changed patterns

Man I’ve caught so hog crappie out of that lake but it seems like I only catch 5-7 each time but they are all well over a pound. I know there’s got to be a key to getting more fish in the boat. I went the other day and tried something a little different and fished far back riprap bank. I caught a lot more fish but they were literally 3-4 in long baby crappie no slabs like I catch fishing the brush and stumps. I’m wondering if I fished the channel 20 ft off the bank deeper down if that might make the difference???*??
