Congrats on a good day. Enjoyed the post and pics.
I took a new to Crappie fishing guy fishing yesterday . Was not real fast but he was suprized to see slabs swung in with a jig pole . We also caught some Stripers about 3 to 4 lbs and swung them too .. We kept 17 good crappie before he had to leave for work . Nick caught a tagged Crappie too ! I stopped a few minutes for lunch then dropped a couple loads of brush . Fished and caught several more then rode around looking . Ran into Crappie Pro , was surprised to see him on the water getting in a little fishing . Guess the prayers everyone sending has helped him in his battle with cancer .
I heard from Nick and he weighed some of the fish and his tagged one was 2 lbs 1 oz and one of mine was 2 lb 4 oz . So I weighed a couple of ones I kept after he left . One was 2 lbs even and a 2 lb 8 oz hawg . With several we had close to 2 lbs it was a banner day for a new to Crappie fishing guy .
We caught everything on brush using Southern Pro Umbrella purple / chartreuse tubes on Timmy Tom 1/8 insert jig heads . man I think he really liked that new Huckabee ''elite'' jig pole . I only took a photo of a couple of the big ones I took home as he left with the rest .
Hope to take billbob and slab out to catch a few on their visit next week if weather does not wreck fishing .
