I pulled up to the ramp today--one truck and trailer there. Generally not a good sign. Tried fishing the piers for 2-3 hours and got skunked. I had "heard" they were holding on the deep ends of the piers, but I guess I didn't find the right one. Didn't see anyone else fishing the piers, a couple were trolling. Keep in mind, about the only time I seem to catch crappie there is during the spawn. I did see several jumping carp in there today while idling through lily pads---not good.

I was there Sunday. Only seen five boats. We kept 8 and was off the water by 10. The local pro there had 7 when we left. It was on fire before the cold snap. Everyday is different tho so just go and enjoy.

I fished it yesterday. Tried everything and never really just drilled them down to a specific location. I started deep off the edge of the piers (25ish) and caught one right off the bat followed by another shortly after and it was enough to keep me trying it for another hour but never got another bite. Ended up moving out in 18-20 FOW and caught some, but didn’t just spank them by any means. Wasn’t that many boats and no one I talked to was really on them good, or so they said. I fished from daylight-2:30 trolling. Weather looks rotten for the next week or so.

Does Horseshoe get a lot of runoff into it? I was hoping to find somewhere to fish in the not too distant future, like maybe as soon as tomorrow, that won't be really high and muddy like most of the lakes I usually fish will be. And are there any reports that look promising by chance? Thanks

I almost went there yesterday, but because of the same concerns I didn’t make the trip.

It will muddy up in spots, but not like you are thinking. Cold fronts will affect it more.
