    Default New to Lake Chicot

I recently moved to Lake Village for work and I don't see much on here about fishing Lake Chicot. I had one of my most successful years ever last year thanks to the local crappie fisherman giving out some free advice. Hoping to have an even better year this year. So if anybody has any tips or advice for fishing this lake I'd sure appreciate it.

    Thanks

Don’t think very many on here fish Chicot. I would start at Connerly this time of year and through the spring. Then move to the main lake. You would do well to put some brush piles in the lake now for fishing this summer. Also lake Washington in Mississippi is not a bad drive from Lake Village. Welcome to CDC and hope to see some pictures of your catch. Good luck.

We live in Fayetteville, Ar and have only fished

Can't help much with Chicot but DKO is giving you some good advice. Washington and some of the other areas close to you are really good fisheries. Welcome to Crappie.Com and we look forward to hearing about some of your trips.

Welcome from Batesville! Wish I could help ya, but I've never fished it. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I hear they were draining that lake and going to start it over.

No sir. They lower it 5 or so feet every 5 years to supposedly help the fish population and make dock repairs.
