Fished last couple days with a good buddy . We got blown off two lakes and froze our tails off . He got to see first hand how to swing some good ones with Huckabee Rods . We used Timmy Tom jig heads rigged with tubes . Our first day we used 1/8 oz with my favorite purple/ chartreuse tubes . Then day two we upsized baits with the high winds to 1/4 oz with bigger orange/chartreuse glow tubes . We kept 33 first day and then 25 . Feel we were lucky to catch this many with this weather change with high winds . Even caught one with a racing stripe .

You flat out earned those fish in the cold windy conditions. We also enjoy wintertime fishing. In my opinion, most lakes aren't as crowded and especially on Beaver the average size fish is larger in the winter. However, we tend to sit it out when the temperatures are south of 40 degrees and windy.

This is why I am trying to learn to become efficient at getting them with a single pole. A spider rigger probably would have goose egged on days like that!
