Hopefully, work will slow down some and you will get a chance to wet a hook.

Sorry about the lower unit, but if we’re gonna play, we’re gonna pay,

You must be hittin the stumps pretty hard. The only thing about modern aluminum props is they are weak and its about $75 to get one straightened. Thats less than a gearbox but still takes time and money.

Ive kept stainless props for years on a 25 hp without gettin em bent but you gotta practice “prop awareness” and be gentle in stump fields.

We straighten prop shafts on a 25 with a cheater bar and a dial indicator. Done this several times without any hiccups but i hear you cant do it on motors over a 50 hp.

When I damaged the lower unit I did whack the stumps pretty hard and solid. However, on one occasion when we I bent a prop shaft it didn't really seem like that hard of a blow. I have been told that Yamaha prop shafts are a little softer and easier to damage. I agree with you about slowing down and practice "prop awareness".

Yeap they don't make them outboards like they use to. Need to get the pro gear case like they use on the toons.
