All I know is they supposed to be the best in the business when it comes to Yamaha. Friend of mine back in late 80's and I lived in Springdale bought a prov150 they had turned into a 200. One bad motor. And it was very reliable. He ran it 3-4 years before selling boat. Never had a minutes problem. They were and I guess still are the place Yamaha sent you to for serious warranty work. Just check their reviews.

They opened the venturi 2 mm on some carburetors i still use. Work appeared perfect to my naked eye.

That trick, along with some bigger main jets, did more for the top speed of bayou meto boat than just about anything else.

Ole DuckLane’s rig was doin things before it was cool but it got waay too crowded starting 3 or 4 years back and nowadays i wait on white river to flood before i get excited.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Hydrotec. Like was said above, at one time they were/are to go to Yamaha guys. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

When I called them last week looking for a powerhead. Hydro-Tec told me they had one for my Yamaha 250 hpdi. So I made an appointment for the following Tuesday. They told me to be there at 8:00am when they open.

Hydro-Tec was a great place to take my 2003 Yamaha 250 hpdi for a powerhead. Their shop was very clean and organized. The owners and employees were polite and on top of everything Yamaha! Wayne took me around and showed me what all they do. They have their own Dino testing, boring/honing, and machining shop. They also do custom lower unit work on Yamaha. They provide full service for Yamaha motors. They even have high performance parts for Yamaha. They will do some boring and honing on Mercury along with offering some high performance parts.
Great group of people at Hydro-Tec. By 2:00 that afternoon they had finished putting the powerhead in and going through the lower unit. They did the idol break in. They also went through the fuel system because when I bought the boat it had half a tank of fuel that had set for the last 3 years. They even drained the old fuel out for me. By the time I payed my bill I was out of there by 2:30 that afternoon.

I am now in the process of the 10 hour break-in. I had it out on the water running for about 2 hours. It sounds great and runs even better. Can’t wait to have it fully broke-in!

So far I am fully satisfied with my experience at
    Hydro Tec Marine.
