    Default Question for D10

I heard that AGFC has received money for a spillway and plan on drawing down the lake in 2019. Any truth to these rumors?
    Thanks

We received money to study the feasibility of a spillway. The final report is due to us any day now. Money for a new spillway is another story. The cost of a new spillway is a serious expense. The drawdown is planned for the summer of 2020. It isn’t related to the construction of a spillway though. It is more for taking care of maintenance issues around the lake. How much we get done will depend on how much money is put in our budget.

Is marking/ re-routing of boat trails on the agenda for the drawdown?

It is part of the plan. But all I can say is that we are planning to tackle it. We were actually going to start that project this fiscal year but the alligator weed treatment was more costly than than we anticipated. Aquatic nuisance species, like alligator weed, is no joke and a huge problem. Left untreated, it would leave large sections of the lake unable to use. When you see that signs that say “clean, drain, dry” please take this to heart. It is serious.

Conway would be hard to drain, dry and clean and repeat.
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.
