    Default Empty Ice Chest

Giving up on catching crappie on Conway from July thru Sept. Would Harris Break or Overcup be reasonable lakes to learn for hot summer time, or should I just play golf?

Don't really want to drive to Nimrod or Peckerwood from Little Rock, but maybe I have to do so??

Conway is a tough summer lake for sure! I know a few that catch em in the trees but I haven’t figured that out yet. Ive spent my summer over at Nimrod and done really well for the most part. I’m not a fan of the drive but I know I can catch fish. Overcup is on my list to start exploring.

I’ve been spider rigging for the summer just to find them in the open water. I may actually try single poling the laydowns in the river channel over there this weekend if I go. I’m still learning the lake/river over there but I’ve talked to some regulars and they only single pole and do well. I don’t know their secret tho haha.

I run a 15ft xpress with a 25hp no problem. It can get choppy if the wind is up but that’s about any lake.

Conway has been on FIRE this year! All of these catches are from the last two months, just the ones I have kept. Have caught and released limits on my last 5 trips and it seems to get a little better each time. Stick with it man, no need to go any further than Ole Stumpy for some good Summertime thumpin!Name: Screenshot_2018-06-27-19-16-06.jpeg

thanks Chris. i'll just keep firing then. i know you can catch them when I can't, so i'll just keep learning the lake better. i haven't found the right "magical" trees yet as CP said once before. Paul
