    Default Pulling cranks at Horseshoe

Anyone ever pulled crankbaits at Horseshoe Lake (the one close to Hughes)?

Yes Sir I have....with minimum luck. I have a problem taking my "short" poles with me and can't stay away from the docks when I try pulling cranks. Sure seems like someone could catch em, but the half a dozen times I have tried, I have only caught a few. You can cover that lake in a short time!

Yes, they work there and pushing road runners. Its been awhile for me, but fish should be in 15' of water over 20-24' I love that lake. If I did not have to go thur Memphis to get there, I would go more often!

I’ve done well there pulling cranks. Did it twice and caught loads of fish both times. Right down the middle of the lake from the curve mid lake to the ditch on the south end and back. Black and chrome was best for me, but you know that changes constantly.

What!! I bet it was 15 years ago.....LOL, Like I said, I have never have it too long, just can't stay away from the docks! Oh, and watch out for the big striped bass, they can make a mess in a hurry!

Thanks so much for the replies. With deep clear water I thought crankbaits should work but never saw anyone pulling them. Think I'll try it soon. I'll let ya'll know how I do.

Pulled crankbaits at Horseshoe today. Fished 8 poles for 5 hours and caught only 5 keepers. We saw very few fish on screen in the deep water. It was a slow day but it satisfied my curiosity about cranks at Horseshoe in summertime. Back to Sardis on Friday.
