I don't know unless there is a thermocline and the lower depths are void of oxygen......really would not think that as shallow as your lake is...but this has been a strange year so far weatherwise.
Hey guys. This year it seems that the fish here are staying really shallow. The lakes we are fishing are flat and no more than 15' deep. The fish are staying about 4: deep over 8' of water. Water temp on top is in the 90 s. Why haven't these fish gone deep? Is it the same other places? Do the fish seem shallower than normal? Just curious.

Fish are going to stay where oxygen and bait fish are. Like G said its been a strange year to say the least.

I noticed crappie backs breaking the surface of the lake over the weekend water temp was right at 90 degrees. I thought it was strange too.

I cranked at small lake Saturday morning where the fish were all 6ft or less. Didn’t matter how deep of water I was in. Had to short line, 25-30 foot behind the boat going .8 mph to get the cranks to stay shallow enough. Only took 2 hours to figure this out, but that’s fishing.
Keep on keepin on!!!
