Default How many braving the heat ?

Fishing still good but average size has been smaller . Most jig bites have been light lately , everywhere I have fished . No minners harmed as usual , just purple/chartreuse jigs on a red Todd Huckabee jig pole .Caught plenty today just no slabs . Get out early before the water lice and it gets too hot . Best part of summer is less traffic on most lakes during the week.

I've been braving the heat early in the mornings and quitting by around 11 a.m. Size is down as water temps are up, 85.6 degrees yesterday. Dad and I have been going about twice a week to White Oak the past couple of weeks and our last four trips numbered 9, 12, 6, and 8 yesterday. I took 2 dozen minnows yesterday just to see the cork go under and the little 4-6" bass sure knocked it under! I got my wish, but not many fish to show for it. Of our 8 that we kept, I caught 5 on minnows and Dad caught 3 on jigs. Not much size to report since our very good day that I posted a thread about back on May 30.

My friend is camping at Greeson this week and he's not doing much over there. He said he kept and cleaned 5 yesterday for his and his wife's supper last night. He did say that bass were schooling also. GTT

I'm out until mid September. Spend the summer canning and putting up enough stuff to last me until next September.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I am trying to get some boat issues fixed and plan to fish on July 4th. Time to fish is very limited this year for me.
