    Default Arkansas river report central

The black flies or buffalo gnats are biting excellent all other species are slow at this time (at least for me.) They will bite on any living thing, color or depth doesn't seem to matter

I inhaled one while fishing Brewer today. Thought I was going to hack up a lung. Can't figure out how such a tiny bug can feel so huge in a lung. He must have been ricocheting around in there.

Man they were bad on Overcup yesterday. I had a friend who called them "black bass turds" or it sounded like that anyway.

I'm going to try this one. I've tried vanilla extract helps but doesn't last long. Lavender oil works really well also, but you kinda smell like a stripper. Well at least that's what I've heard they smell like.

There is a spray that you can buy called buggins that works really good. It got a vanilla scent to it and you dab a little behind each ear.
