I hate to hear about the damage to your boat. Been there, done that. What we always tell people is that the trails are the path of least resistance. If you aren't very familiar with the trail system, idle speed is your best bet. I consisted Lake Conway my home lake and I am on it a lot for work and play. I only get on plain on a few stretches of trails. I mainly idle around. We are very aware of the issues with the trails system (stumps, too close to some boat docks, missing markers, etc...). We hope to get funding for a complete overhaul in the upcoming years. We plan to hire a contractor to move trails away from boat docks, cut stumps in existing trails, and remark the whole trail system. This is not a simple or cheap task to accomplish, but we recognize that it needs to be done. We are hoping to begin this process in FY 2018/2019 and finish it up during a drawdown proposed for 2020.

I’m glad to hear the agf is going to try and redo the boat trails. I’ve fished there for about 40 years now off and on, and knew what I was in for before I ever put a new boat in it. I quit fishing it due to the boat trails not being clear or marked several years back. Living in Conway now, I’ll continue to fish there. A lot of my problems stemed from a bad trolling motor battery Saturday. If it would have been working right I wouldn’t have to have used the gas motor so much.

No stumps in the boat lanes, that will take all the challenge out of Lake Conway. Ha Ha!
Welcome to the home of the, boat eating, trolling motor busting, prop bending, lower unit smashing, stump filled mud hole called Lake Conway.

A few summers ago I saw a not so smart person on a jet ski on Conway. Not kidding.

I probably mentioned this before but i hired a guy a few years back from Perryville who told me that he had a school teacher who took the students skiing on harris brake. Reminded me of the surf scene on apocalypse now!

Went back this weekend and caught a couple nice crappie, a catfish and several whites. I went back in dix creek Saturday, and you could smell something bad rotting right at the mouth of it. I went to the back cove and the cormorants and big white birds were in there by the thousands. I noticed more than a few dead palm sized shad and carp in there. I don’t know if the birds killed them or if something else was going on. On a bright note I only hit 50 or so stumps!

Everyone needs to be careful , all the lakes are at low pool . Nimrod is dangerous if you don't know it at winter pool .
