Default Best Lakes in Bella Vista

Greetings! Just found this site today and looking forward to getting some good info maybe making a few fishing buddies.

Recently moved to Bentonville and I have been hearing that Bella Vista has some real nice fishing. I was wanting to go check it out but after reading on the BV website there are several lakes available (which is not a bad thing, lol).

Does anyone have a recommendation for a particular lake there that is good this time of year for crappie? My plan is to take my kayak and throw either minnows and / or jigs.

Any advice or recomendations would be much appreciated.

They are private lakes. I believe you have to own a lot in Bella Vista to fish the lakes.

I called the POA office and they said all lakes are open to non-POA members BUT they charge a small fee. For a kayak I believe they said it is $17 for a week pass. No kayak, it is $6 for the day.

Welcome to crappie.com from Fayetteville. Don't know about the private lakes at Bella Vista but there are several guys that fish out of kayaks on beaver lake. Some of the other local small lakes include Lake Fayetteville, Sequoyah, Weddington, and Bob Kidd.

Keep your $17 unless your after bass, cats, or brim on the BV lakes. Your best bet for nice crappie is the creek running through the golf course. Put in under the bridge at town center. Go down and fish the deep hole behind the big town houses that set in front of the main country club along the creek. Perfect for a kayak.

Thanks CastandBlast. Do you happen to know if the water level in the creek is high enough for kayak's right now? Also, whats a good take out spot if I put in where you said?

Sorry. Just saw your question. The spot I mentioned is always deep enough for a kayak and you should be able take out where you put in even if you have to pull it for a 100 yards or so. If the creek is up and flowing or you just want to go farther down then you can go on down to the Arkansas/ Missouri line and take out without having to cross the golf course. Just cross into Mo. turn around and turn in to the right just as soon as you cross back into Arkansas. Hope that helps. Let me know how you do if you try it.
