Atkins report
The last time I was at lake Atkins in Dec. I had trouble finding a place to park not so today. I saw 1 boat at the dike and 1 at lucky landing I fished for 2 hrs not a nibble. The rear of cove was covered with shad it mite get better .I enjoyed a cheeseburger at Lucky's and seeing all the fish pics .Lake Overcup no boats a few at the fish pier.

I went to Piney yesterday , it to was full of Shad . Scanned for couple hours and jigged for about 3 hours . Water still murky and water temp 44 . I caught one small Crappie and two Blue Cat , Lost two more fish but who knows what . I was fishing 35' deep with 1/8 oz jig . Nimrod is forecasted to be down March 1 . My first trip this year was to one of the AGFC lakes but only kept 3 good ones . The fishing should pick up somewhere as waters settle down .

I don't know if the water at Atkins has stabilized yet, but I'm sure the way the lake level jumped up and probably fell out pretty quick it had the fish confused.

Was there a few weeks ago and fished 6 hours , got skunked !!!!! Also have had a few friends try last few weeks and they were skunked also, one things for sure though it can only get betterOriginally Posted by fisherguy
