    Default Conway advice

I have never fished Conway in my life. Just want to know the best place to load my boat. Coming from Lonoke tomorrow afternoon. Gonna try to find em with a slaters jig and a goldfish. Thanks for any info!

Set er in at Goldcreek landing off 365. Go to right under 365 and railroad track bridge and fish up the creek....go back to old iron bridge. Fish the pads on the way up and at iron bridge. You will catch em....

Fishing Conway on the weekend sucks, it's been overly publicized and there are way to many boats for the small area that the fish frequent. It used to be enjoyable to fish Conway, now it is far from enjoyable unless you can go during the week. People who are looking for a easy catch are getting surprised on the weekends, it's far from easy, between getting your line cast over, to people dragging thier anchors from spot to spot instead of picking them up and they are tearing up the structures that are sunk, to people throwing trash out in the water, to people cutting you off, to people not using thier trolling motors to move around and instead using thier outboards at half throttle to move around and throwing a big wake that causes you to bounce your jig 3 feet at a time, it's less than enjoyable, if ya like to get mad when you go fishing then go to Conway on the weekends. There's no special jig or color needed during the week to catch fish any color of tube will do it, but on the weekend there is nothing that will get them fired up to bite, after the buzz of the first 20 or 30 boats run through the creek and into the one acre pocket it's over, that pretty much at daylight. If ya got a fishing hole to fish and it is good to you most of the time, don't post about it on here or the same could happen to it also, and most likely would if ya talk about it. This is sure to upset people, but I am sorry, this is exactly what is going on, no sugar coating from me. People who post on here about Conway, fish it mostly during the week. If they were weeekend fisherman they would not have much to post about.

come tomorrow it wont be crowded or the next three days, all week and the bite will be good.it has been steady bite, yesterday and today 20 boats not bad each day 7 limits on each day early bite then slows to a good mess.yes 40 to 50 boats bad ,only had one sat. that bad and fish were still being caught, gets bad when 5-10 boats thinks its private and get rude.had a boat come off private sector, practicaly run over me intentionally in the rain when they could have went way around me.they heard about it.another tried to block me.that happens often.fishing bullies ha ha. keeping more than limits hurts too.

Gold Creek was Busy on weekends before crappie.com and will be Busy for years to come. Ive fished it when you could walk accross the boats on a sat and came out with a limit of hogs several times. Yes it gets crowded on weekends always has been even before crappie.com. If you have a problem about crowds you may want to find some new water to fish, lots of it around. This may also offend some but I will post what I want, when I want, and how I want as long as its within the rules of the site. If you dont like it by all means dont share info with me, read or replie to my post and by all means dont say hi to me when you see me on the water. Lake Conway/Gold Creek is a public fishing waters for all to enjoy not just a few who get mad because it gets crowded. Sorry I dont suger coat things either.

I've never had any problems but one over there. Only bad experience I've had was that infamous Saturday before deer season started. I was easing up there and goin under the 365 bridge when a boat w two guys in it ran 3/4 throttle at an angle between the same two pillons I was idling in between. It gave me a good soaking and they came within a few inches of running up onto the front deck of my boat. Had I been in my war eagle I would've swamped no doubt. I couldn't believe that it really happened and was soooo thankful that my son or any of my nephews weren't in the boat w me. I've been running a boat since I was a little kid and experienced some crazy boat driving in the duck woods and when I fished bass tournaments, but those dudes risked my life and theirs and I'm not sure why. I wasn't in a race and would have gladly let em slip around me bc I don't know the creek well enough to run it and don't see the need in blowing through there anyway. I never saw em again that day.

Fishing-wise I've never had any problems. When I get near somebody, I just ask em which direction they're headed and yield to everyone. Most folks are cordial at that point. It's never hurt my catches as I've batted .1000 this year over there on 11 trips. That place amazes me.

one thing i have noticed over the years is a good fisherman are going to catch fish regardless of the situation and have very few complaints about the situations their dealt and the wannabees always have a excuse why they cant catch fish!!!!!! just my observation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
