Grenada lake is a huge lake, and the wind can get dangerous, but can be very peacefull at times.
You could use it in the Young's Landing area and not get very far from the ramp. You don't have to be that far from the ramp to be in good crappie, it has lots of underwater stumps Young's Landing is the best big crappie area on the lake imo.
I would not get on the lake in March in that boat, you'd be looking for trouble. The second week in April in prime spawn, and the wind SHOULD be layed down by then hopefully.
    Hope this helps you.....good luck.

I have family in Grenada and have never fished the lake. Both of my aunts are getting old with health problems and a cousin that knows eveyone JR White or Bob White. None of my family ever fished much, not sure where I got bit. I have thought about asking JR to hook me up with someone to show me the ropes on the lake.

Billy E... We'll do that sometime. Yea it's pretty much muddy anyway without all this rain. We'll hook up and drown some minners.

Reviving an old thread here, but I'm planning a trip at whats been stated as the best time to come fishing Grenada, march 29th just by chance! If i could ask, would this be a good lake for bank fishing, or scooting around in a john boat with trolling motor? Should we consider a charter/guide.? I ask because the wind seems to be an issue, don't wanna get blown all over the place, lol
    thanks a bunch!

I just done a google earth on Grenada Lake an it looked like the lake is about half dry. I seen that that was back I believe that was back in late 2012 photo, but it will take a lot of water to bring that lake up to normal. Is it back to normal now?

My two cents.........The lake is usually LOW until late March and muddy. I do not think these fish have ever seen clear water. LOL I hope to get back over again in 14'.

It's my home lake and I'd be glad to help anyone. Grenada should have a heck of a spawn this year, If MOTHER NATURE is kind and not blow like she did last year.
It will produce some huge female crappie that will pull the wrinkles out of your forehead this March and April.
