    Default lake Quachita

Anyone got a clue on the Stripers and Walleye up there this time of year? Wife and I are heading up Saturday for 4-5 days.

    Thanks

I really don't have any idea of what to tell you about either of those species. Other than getting a guide, all I can say is that this time of year I see people trolling crank baits deep and fast on Greers Ferry for walleye. They mainly troll the channel areas but they troll faster than we do crappie fishing, like 2 - 3 mph. And I've seen people looking for the stripers schooling at dawn and dusk, usually when the wind is calm on Lake Norfork. I hope you can figure something out it's a beautiful lake to be on and catching fish would be a definite bonus.

Thanks, I don't do guides though. Sure I could catch a heck of alot more but UI like to figure things out myself. I have a few clues. You're right about daylight and dark for Stripers from all I've read. They bust the top at daylight so I'm taking some big topwater plugs. Then troll Umbrella rigs on planer boards 30-50 foot deep. Walleye, Rattle traps early, then drop shot worms on the edge of grass beds later on. Least that's what I've found out so far. It is a beautiful place. We went up several years ago and had a great time. Even caught a 30 something pound striper!!!
