Trout tasted like trout. Drum tasted like drum. Spanish Mackeral tasted like mackerel. Snapper was so-so. Pompano, flounder, and kingfish are good stuff. They must have a good dental plan down there. They pretty well all had good teeth.

The trout, pompano, drum, kingfish, flounder pics were 3 or 4 years ago just before memorial day. They all came from bank fishing. The ones in the tub were several years ago. We had some really good trips with Captain Jack Wilhite and his wife on the Summer Hunter until it got too expensive for us.

Yellow looking fish is a pompano and some of the finest eating out of salt water. Jack cravalle looks similar but a little difference in the fins and head.

Yea, I've caught both. I posted that before I read all your post. Pompano are good eating--best I've had was at a restaurant in New Orleans.
