Hey Knighten, congrats on the triple. Nice buck with the smoke pole.
Killed this 169" buck at a ranch in Texas 12-9-10. Hunt of a lifetime! Never got a shot at the one I was hunting at my deer club in LA, even though I saw him once, but this bad boy made up for it! :D

Looks like a healthy buck! I've been bowhunting Kansas the last 3 years.. .hunting public walk in land. Thinking about trying Illinois this year... do you like it there? You hunting public or private ground?
i'm hunting private ground. i've got family that live in northwest illinois in a little town called erie. being able to hunt with them sure saves me a lot of money and scouting time.
I heard that!

Been Hunting a lease around Batesville, AR for about 10 years now. Never had any problems with my feeders until this year. 2 rachets straps holding it to a tree, after finding it on the ground several times the past month. Put a camera out, and the next night, I caught that rascal in the act! Over 10 years now and many feeders and trail cameras, and we have never had any sign of BEARS!

When does bear season open!!:yikes
Supposed to buy deer corn not bear corn. :)
Haven't been deer hunting yet and haven't been fishing either. Here's a pic of what has kept me from catching crappie.

If you are at the next meeting, remind me and I'll show you how to keep that bear out of your feeder. I hunt private land along the southern portion of the White River and we have several bears. They are a real nuciance to us. I don't mind watching them, but they will tear up everything in the woods. Duck blinds , deer stands, feeders,.....you name it.
no story yet, but didn't know where else to ask this ? for your Jonesboro area guys, where is a good local deer processor? I am going tomorrow and Thurs. and I feel good about my spot, so I want to make sure I have somewhere to take the deer.
Been hunting the woods on my place for 12 years now, and have only killed a handful of deer with a firearm. This year, after all the trail cam pics, decided I was gonna hunt hard with my bow and arrow one. This little guy came in at 25 yds, and the shot was high, but on the bright side, he ran toward the house and fell about 50 yds from the front porch!Attachment 104391
htr, don't know where you live but this place is worth driving to. it's an amish or menonite place near dalton, mo. you'll not find a cleaner place that processes meat. they have a quick freeze freezer and vacum pack the meat and make some of the best summer sausage with jalopeno/cheese you've ever ate. if you want to find it or get directions stop at the quick shop in ravenden or just on the outside of town at the spring river lp gas place they can tell you how to get to it. you won't be disappointed.
