    Default Morels?

Can anyone identify with certainty that these mushrooms are Morels? I picked them today and feel that that they are. Thank you

Those look like False Morels. Word of caution, always err on the safe side when it comes to mushrooms. If you are not 100 percent sure then do not take a chance.

Those are definitely false morels. Will have a solid stem when you split them. True morels have a hollow stem.

Thank you for all the responses. I researched and agree that these are false morels. Apparently very toxic and can be deadly. Still on the search for my first morel pick, maybe someday...

Keep looking. We're still probably a week away but it's setting up to be a good year.

I have always heard those called Beef Steak mushrooms. I know people that eat them. I personally have never eaten one
