Well ... thanks for the welcome.

That rig set up the correct way will surprise you on how little a crappie has to do to get it to stand up. Plus you can fling it out there a long ways because of the added weight in the bobber.

I take 1/64 oz jig heads and cut off the extra lead so I can have a larger hook gap. And I always make sure the jig is hanging flat, not pointed up or down.

To find crappies I toss it out and reel it back in real slow till I catch one. Then I toss it back to the same spot and play the waiting game (5-10 seconds) then give it a twitch.

If you take the time to get good with this and feel that some "thank you's" are in line ... say a little prayer for the old guy who taught it to me.

Micky ... the 90+ year old guy who caught more crappie than anyone I have ever met.

    Hi,

What is the white string on the bobber at the bottom?...Does the line go through the rubber sleeve?....What size bb weight do you use?

The "white string" is just something molded into the bobber from the factory. It has nothing to do with the rig.

KCBH - thank you for your clarity. The photos and diagrams are great. This is really innovative and makes so much sense that I'll start rigging a couple of these up tonight.

Now, if you have a truly innovative way to FIND crappie...I'm sure we're all open.

    Again, many thanks.
