Get your light farther way from the boat
To get the light further from the boat by using a
    "swimming pool noodle, or bobber"
so the boat will not spook the fish.

For example: most bass fisherman that fish at night using top water
lures use black lures, like a black Jitterbug....the darker colors show up
more to a fish looking up at the surface from below.

For this very reason I have always had a light colored boat with the
exception of the G3 boat that I had...it was charcol....my new boat is
platnum color and I have noticed that I can get in closer to bedding
areas without spooking the fish as bad with the new boat.

I am not a expert by any means and do not claim to be one....
this is just what I have noticed and what I think.

Question by: Vic n on another thread

Quote:I don't want to highjack a thread, but I'm curious....are lights mostly for clear water? Or will they work in stained water too?

When I go to the LOZ, it's mostly a party during the day, but if I could fish for crappies at night, I would be one happy camper!! Unquote

Super cloudy days and dark waters, fishing light can work during the day
not as effective as during the night hours......but it will workHands Clapping
