I don't know much about crappie or even fishing in general.

So tell me, which of those would be worth keeping and putting on the dinner table?

Gonna get the hands and knife dirty anyway, some of the smaller fish may have been kept because of getting the hook into their gills or stomach entrance. They would end up dying, may as well get what you can out of them. Cost of fuel to even go is great. I would keep them all. If some of the smaller ones is all I was catching, would probably let them all go. But when you have enough of the bigger ones to clean. Sometimes you will keep some little ones to help make a mess.

    That's just me.

hooking small fish deep always bothered me when I was a kid fishing. I didn't know at the time that the hook would dissolve away.

Use to catch some catfish in grandparents pond when I visited.

Would fish all day for a few days to get enough to have a meal. Grandma would soak them (catfish) in a bowl in something in the fridge. Don't remember if it was milk or saltwater or icewater.
