Default 9 hours, 1 striper dink

Finally got a chance to hit a local lake with a bud of mine. Main channel is nothing but the ski'ng folks, but lots of coves for some peace and quiet. Fished from about 11:00 am till 8:30 at night. Caught ONE small striper. Thats it. He caught 1 very small crappie.

Water temp was about 78 degrees or so. Fished charteuse jigs, jigs with spinners, rooster tails of all sorts, and every other thing in my tackle box.

Fished deep, ,fished shallows,,,, slow retrieve ,, faster ... nothing.

Saw lots and lots of shad-looking fish towards the surface everywhere.

Still ... no bites, completely dead.

Has it slowed down that much being this late or what ?

eimhoff, we true fishermen and women will stay all day, even if we catch nothing. If I even suspect there is a fish there, I'll hang around til I just have to go. Better luck next time. The more you fish, the more you learn.

It has been a slow bite around here but I manage to catch enough for supper almost anytime I go. I have been catching a few dink stripers.
