What will you guys do when this entire forum is gone?? Because with the why ya'll delete post on here is the same way the media is covering up all of Obama's BS.
And all this will get you is to only be able to talk about what he says you can talk about.
But I quess this will get deleted too. It's a sad sad time in America!
Yall keep saying register for the other OT forum, but I quess I'm not inside the lines enough for that either :D
It's great to be a true American and not a go alone with crowd kind of person. GOD PLEASE SAVE US!

Who are you??????????
And yes all the other forums I'm a member of the OT forum is just that OT, and all goes, just no personal attacks. And the only ones attacked in the threads that were deleted was the present non-American president and his gang.
Are you even a Mod??????????????
I'm just a member!!!
And no I'm not a mod, I was offered but with my work schedule I didn't think I'd have time.
I'm a member on over 20 boards and NONE of them allow the type of comments that have been deleted here.

The horse is dead, Alan. They won't listen. It's a personal power thangy.

it's just a matter of following the rules attached to each forum, and the leniency or heavy handedness of the mods of that forum.
This site is not a government, not a state or country ... it's a private membership, follow the rules or suffer the consequences, kind of place. There's an avenue that can be taken, if you want to exercise your "right to free speech" on the topics of Politics/Religion/Sexual Orientation .... it's just not on this forum.
There was a time when this forum didn't exist, and things ran right along. When it was created, it was done so at the request of the membership, in order to keep the "off topic" subjects off the main board. When the three subjects were introduced to this forum, many problems arose ... and Ed saw fit to set the rules, as they exist today. When members requested that they be allowed to have a place to discuss those particular topics, one was created. What could be more fair than that ??
No major site rules have been broken, in this thread ... so it stays, as is. I don't exercise my "power" to the extent that I would construe this thread as a site rule violation, even though it could be conceived as such (under the ruling of "no negative connotations") :p
Members have the right to say what they want to say ... and Moderators have the right to censor them, if they breech the line of good taste (foul language or inappropriate pictures) or step across the line and post inappropriate subject matters (on the wrong forum).
I only have time to moderate this one site, and take a peek every now & then at a couple of others (fishing related) ... neither one of which even allows these three subjects to be discussed !! I don't see the members of those sites weeping & wailing about it :p And since WE DO have a forum that allows these subjects to be discussed ... in order for it to be a valid addition to this site ... I simply suggest that members that wish to discuss them, USE "IT", and refrain from using this forum for that purpose. Simple as that.

I do think that if a thread is deleted a reason should be given...I understand the Mods have the thankless chore of reading all the posts but if no reason for deletion is given we are kind of left in the dark..After deleting a thread it would take just a minute or two to post a reason...Might help in the long run...
Just my opinion..

When I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations I have a good day
... that all mods use the "soft delete" function (closing the thread but leaving it accessible to him) ... I have started putting a "reason" for any deleted threads (see those previously deleted, in this forum, as examples). This helps in three ways ... one, by allowing Ed to make the final judgement as to whether or not the post/thread was justifiably deleted (and can remove it or reinstate it) --- two, explains to the originator of the thread, why it was axed --- three, keeps the original post/thread wording intact, for any "legal" purposes that may arise (as requested by Ed).
