Default Has anyone caught crappie with Trout Magnets?

A friend told me last winter that crappie will eat up Trout Magnets. I bought a $20 box of them, but have yet to catch a crappie on them. They are deadly on bluegill using 2 lb. test line, have also caught hornyheads, white & yellow bass, smallmouths, and a little bit of everything else.

Has anyone else had any luck with them? I haven't trout fished this year, but I bet they are effective.

I've tried them but no luck with the magnet bodies, but when I switched up to using a berkley nymph body on the trout magnet heads, I hammered them !!

I am a newbie and I slam crappie on these. In fact my best day (50-60 I know others caught lots more in a day) I used a white/green trout magnet. They work really well in the early spring here. I also use the crappie magnet when I start catching them first on the trout magnet. It is my start/go to lure. John

I always had better luck with them by applying a crappie nibble too them.

Fished with them in Arkansas. Ole boy over there showed them to me. We had a lot of luck when the minnow hatch is still small. The chart./wht. seemed to work very well. Bream love em too.

caught alot on them in farm ponds. the mealworm color works good in the hot weather. 4lb. test with a tiny bobber. and rub smelly jelly liquid on the body, bend the hook open slightly, be careful it will break. and the crappie don't always take the cork under, hence the tiny cork.

Sounds like a good plan. I might have to try my luck with 'em. Any special presentation or colors you are partial to?
