yes those are encapsulated bulbs, water can not get to them to short out nor will the bulb pop if hot from use as u back into colder water, lots of trailers gots them. When one of mine went out I was on trip could't find spares til I got home Boat USA has them, bass pro should also maybe have to looks in parts dept. What I did cause the bulbs would cost $13.95 ea said to hell with it & put LED lites on trailer they are good for 100,000 hours also I ran a ground wire to ea tail lites as a added ground cause so many folks that have lite troubles well 99% of it, not a short, but bad ground.

I took mine off and put LED's as well. You will not regret putting them on.

I hate fooling with trailer lights in the AM.

LED's, worth their weight in gold! Have not had any trouble since buying a set three years ago. They are now on their second trailer.

Are the LEDs tolerable to the water when dunked? I might have to do that myself, but need a little more info.

    Thanks,

No need in cutting the bubble and replacing the bulb. I did that. Everything rusted fairly quickly and it was over anyway. Only prob about the LED lights is all I've seen is the square lights, unlike the rectanglar ones on my trailer.:o

Yes they are designed so that they work under water, really nice to turn trailer LED on at nite before loading at ramp makes it easy to align boat on trailer. Lots of places have the rectangler LED's with a range of 10 to 17 LEDs(for trailer over 80") Bass pro, about 60-64$$, Farm & fleet type stores, don't know if wally world here has them don't see why not.
