Question Need Help Starting Motor On Pontoon

    [F
    ONT=Georgia]undefined[/FONT]

I'M NOT REAL HANDY WITH MOTORS, BUT MY 75 HORSE FORCE
MOTOR IS DEAD, I'VE TRIED TWO NEW BATTERIES AND IT WILL
NOT EVEN CLICK. IT IS HOOKED UP TO A 21 FOOT PONTOON
BOAT BUILT BY BASS PRO. TOMMORROW I AM GOING TO TAKE THE
DASH PLATE OFF AND CHECK THE WIRING, BUT I HOPE SOME
OF THE TECHNICAL GUYS ON THE FORUM CAN COME UP WITH AN
EASIER WAY TO GET THE THING RUNNING. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY
    SUGGESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE.

    THANKS

    Question are you sure....

..your'e getting power to mtr?...pull cover and find starter.....find 2 big wires that go it....take long handle screwdriver and connect one post to other... shold either engage gear or at least spark good....if it does then check for 12v at key area either with meter or test light...you can get a 12v test light at harbor freight for $2....look for fuses on motor on inline holders & on dash...check all of these; you never know ....that ought to get you started.. post results...will try to help
Tighten er down till ya strip it--then back off 1/4 turn..

Usually when the kill switch is pulled, it'll turn over but won't ever crank. I been there and done that too. Makes you feel like a large donkey.

So Have I, I Know Its Not The Kill Switch Or Not Being In Neutral
Because I've Been There And Done That Before, Also Felt Like A Large
Donkey. We're Going Back To The Lake On Wednesday, Armed With Tools.
Fuses And Advice. We'll See What We Can Get Done.

Chef- turn the kill switch to off put the gear shift in gear and go back to prop and step on the prop and turn the motor over with the prop. The motor has stopped on a dead spot and won't fire or anything until you spin the motor a little. It won't take much but be careful. After you turn the motor over, flip the kill switch to on and it should fire up. Worth a try. My 75 Force did this same thing this spring.
    DO-GOODER EXTRADINAR :p
