Figured I would go out this morning while I still had fuel, and it's still below $4 a gallon. Oologah is about 5' above normal right now, and most of the trees I normally catch fish off of were totally submerged. three other places were ok and the fish were sporadic. I slow trolled 1/8oz jigs tipped with minnows around 2 points and came across three schools of Crappie. Biggest one I caught was only around 11". I kept 10 fish and released around 30.
BR has called and cancelled due to fuel prices and I don't think anyone here in the US right now could blame him. Maybe we can try again in the future. It only takes me about 1.5 gallons to get to Talala Creek, and I can stretch 6 gallons in the boat into 4 trips.
For those of you who venture out this weekend, be safe and careful. I might go ahead and go a half day in the morning, then come back to the house and plop down for some good 'ol college football.
Take care,
Reaper
