    Default Did Lowrance repair division shut down?


    I have a Lowrance Sonar/GPS that needs repair. I called the 800 number and was left on hold for over an hour with no actual person ever answering the phone. I emailed customer service without getting a response. I tried to send my unit in for repair by using the automated website but it will not recognize my serial number.

    Guess its time to buy a Humminbird.

    I heard that Lowrance had a layoff and the only people that they kept were the one that were actually working on the units... so if you call them you will be on hold for a loooooooooong time:D:D! I called a couple of weeks ago and they did eventually answer the phone it just takes them a while!!!

    Same problem here. Mines been in there 2 months. It took me 2 weeks just to get someone on the phone before that to get the stinkin' work order number to send it in.
    I called 2 weeks ago to check on it and they said they were replaceing it with a new one. Sounded good at first, then he said they were on back order with no idea how long.
    CARP! I would just like to get my $200 back, that was a mandatory deposit just to send it in, and put it toward a new one. Now I will have $900 invested in a $700 unit. Whaaa!

    I know this don't help some of you but I've been in there 3 times this year and have always walked out with new equipment, no charge. It's nice to live 20 minutes away!
    They may have a temporary problem, I just can't see them changing their service policy after so many years of the best.
    Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it!

    They are slow but they have done me right!

    My dealer stated that most of the workers are busy making units and not so many doing the serviceing. Phone calls are taking 45 minutes--even for dealers--on the average.

    A sign of the times.

    Gene, a fella could make some good fishing money if you were to set up a Mail Boxes Etc account and be willing to shuttle broken units to the factory.
