    Default Eager Beaver & others

Please explain this Credit Card Bill to me::

People who pay their credit cards off monthly will be punished..

    1. An annual fee would be charged
    2. An interest charge on each purchase
    3. By the time it got to 3 I was so mad I didn't listen..

All of this to help recover the loss of 12 billion the banks will incur when helping the non payers under the new Bill.

How in the heck is this helping our economic recovery??

Has this President lost his mind or is it his followers that have lost theirs'...Hmmmmmmm, maybe both...

I tell ya what, I keep one credit card JUST to make ordering fishing stuff
online easy. I never put anything on it unless I've already got the cash
in hand to pay it off as soon as it's posted to my account.

The first negative thing I see from this, it's getting the scissors,
and I will send an e-mail to the sporting goods outfitter who's name
is on the card to explain why from this point onward I will very rarely,
if ever be buying from them again.

Ditto. I considered an AMEX card, but it's not as widely accepted, and the annual fee is $95.

I think online merchants are gonna hate this.

“It will be a different business,” said Edward L. Yingling, the chief executive of the American Bankers Association, which has been lobbying Congress for more lenient legislation on behalf of the nation’s biggest banks. “Those that manage their credit well will in some degree subsidize those that have credit problems.”

Thank you Paul Mullins & Skip Nance for letting me pay by check...I appreciate it and know that others will..

The only reason I have a credit card is to buy gas and make reservations at motels when we travel ...The motel folks will lose our business if credit cards are the only way they will let you make reservations.

I will contact my credit card company & if they say all this is true, I will cancel immediately....

I buy all my jigs, etc from Paul & Skip..I also buy my rods from St. Croix & BnM which both accept checks....

Maybe I'm complaining about nothing...Maybe this is the way it should be...How did we make it before credit cards & cell phones..Might be time to get back to basics and take care of our own..I think you know what I mean..

And if it gets down to the real basics just remember "walking isn't crowded"...

We,ve used a discover card to buy almost everything ---pay the bill every month when it comes due--several times a year we get a rebate [?] or refund that amounts to several bucks a year-- I,m not going to start paying for something that for years has given me cash back for using it

I will start using paypal and they do a immediate transfer from your bank account and NO fees. It works great for online purchases and sending money.

Yessiree. I've really enjoyed playing with the tech toys - but I keep
having this recurring thought about how nice it would be to just have a
good rowboat, throw out a couple of Bandits and loaf around row-trolling.
Just need to move to the lake so's I won't have to drive.
Love that saying about walking not being crowded.

I read the same thing into this law. Those that are responsible and pay on time, or in my case, the complete balance every month, will be getting screwed with an annual fee. Unfortunately, sometimes there's no getting around the need for having a credit card. Hotel reservations, airline tickets, gas, unless you enjoy walking in paying your money, then walking back for your change.
About all this law is doing, is buying votes! God help us, because it's just starting!
