Lowrance HDS Fishfinder/GPS Chartplotter

I think maybe some of you guys have one of these units.
The HDS-7, what are the pros and cons of this unit? I know
that it is new and there might not be much that can be said
at this time, but any info. would be appreciated.

If I was goin put out $$$ for HDS I would go for the HDS-8 why? Because what I read is that the side image unit that comes out this summer will only work & plug into the #8 & 10 models. Just my thinking??? 1 1/2 cents

I have had an HDS 8 and lgc 4000 for 2 months. The 4000 was bad out of the box. Had problems with the 8 off the bat, now it won't even turn on. Lowrance does not have any to ship now, I've invested a lot of money and haven't been able to use it yet.

Lowrance either owes you your money back or a free upgrade.

They did me right a few weeks back, so I can't complain.

Yes check into the upgrade. I think I read that Cabelas and Bass Pro are both doing them at the stores. Maybe they wouldn't mind doing yours too if your near one.

the cabelas and bp upgrade is actually a software update before they ship them-has nothing to do with my problems or lowrance introducing new products before they get the bugs out
