    Default Autumn is Coming

Did okay this morning. Just wondering how many of you are getting anxious for the crappie to stack up on the tops for the fall season. I know I am!

Nice bunch of fish! Is that a walleye? Man, I wish we had them around here.
Nope, (on 2cd look) catfish - I see walleye in my dreams too :D
Yes, ready for Fall, too. Is it just me, or does it hit you this way too -
one morning you just walk outside, and it SMELLS like deer season -
you can just feel the change overnight. Even though I haven't hunted in
a while, I still think of it the first cool morning. May have to change that
this year - farmer was in the shop today getting us to fix a part for some
of his sileage equipment, and said he was overrun with deer - asked him
if I could hunt them, and he said last year he paid a bounty on them, got
in trouble with the F&G people for it... I told him I'd help out for free :D
Got a SEXY little Ruger #1 my Dad gave me, haven't even shot it yet, but
it has been calling my name. It is a .270, the lightweight, short barrel one.

Hey Darryl, Nice mess of fish! We've been staying in Little Rock this week so my wife could have surgery. Everything turned out fine. Can't wait to get back home to Nimrod. I want to put in several of the concrete block condos before the fall fishing kicks in.

If these draw crappie as fast as the other condos do it'll be some awesome fishing!

Thanks Darryl, I can't wait for that cool fall weather to get back to jigging my brushpiles and canebeds.

Looks like, from what you guys are doing, that they are starting to get on the brush a little.

Yes, Fall fishing is great. And, I have already been harvesting a few squirrels and tuning up my beagles for rabbit season. Hopefully, I will find time to do all I plan to do.

Seen over 20 deer tonight coming home from work! 3 bucks standing together in one spot. A spike and a 4 or 6 pt. still in velvet and a decent 8 pt. completely out of velvet.

Thumbs up YEP ... Fall has officially started for me, too -

Just got out Friday afternoon, for 3hrs of Dove hunting. Got 12 birds - my fishing partner got 12, and his older brother got 8 (and lost 4-5 that we couldn't find ) It took me 3 boxes of shells - but, I did take a lot of "ill advised" shots  (mostly at birds that were a bit out of range, or trying to shoot "doubles" ...LOL!!) My fishing partner buddy did manage to bring down 2 birds, with one shot ... witnessed by me !!
To me, that is the "signal" that Fall fishing isn't that far away !! Once my "hunting jones" is taken care of ... it's off to the lakes for some cool weather Slab fishing !! ........ luck2ya'll ........ cp
