    Default Area Map

    Can any of y'all poing me to a link that charts/map the major bodies of water around Topeka ? I know there are alot of big lakes with in 50 to 75 miles.

    I am flying out there Sunday night to look at a house on Wednesday near Shawnee......I will have all day Monday & Tuesday to just ride around looking at places to fish and boat......

    I have 2 boats here .......

    a 18ft Polar w/ a 25HP thats my Catfish/Crappie boat ~ Its coming w/
    me when I move.

    I also have a 24 ft Wahoo w/ a 200HP I use in the ocean.

    The big question is :::

    Should I keep it to run the big lakes and river or sell it to a buddy and LEAVE IT IN VIRGINIA

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT

    I don't think the wahoo will run in any rivers around here. you should probably sell out there where there is a market for it. Your polarcraft will work fine most of the time. The wind does hump pretty good around here most of the time but most of the lake have several ramps so you can launch and fish out of the wind.

    Default your Wahoo

    The 24' Wahoo will be pretty useless here. I brought my 17' Grady with me when I moved from Baltimore. I removed the bow rail and installed a bow mount trolling motor. However, it is far from an ideal boat for fishing even the largest lakes in Kansas. On the other hand, you never really feel threatened by any wind conditions . The 24' Wahoo would be another story!

    One word of warning - the wind conditions here are a bit different than back East. The wind only blows twice a week in Kansas - it blows in one direction for 3 days, then it blows in another direction for 4 days

    I do head down to the Gulf and pull my boat with me. That is not a bad trip, except for the gasoline bill.

    thanx for the replies.....ran the wahoo in 6 ft seas and 40+ winds yesterday in a driving rain so hard i could not see 25 feet in front of the boat !! GAWD I do love that thing tho~

    not sure why i couldnt run it on the same lakes and river tho that recreational boaters use for skiing and wake bords tho......

    It may run offshore 40 miles in 900 feet of water every week ......but i fish the flats of the bay in 2 feet of water too

    Are you guys saying its TOO BIG a boat for them waters ?

    I may need it to break the state Catfish record ya know......
