    Default Big Niangua - 5-15-09

Wasn't able to get to camp, hope to join that fun sometime soon, but did manage a couple of hours on LOZ mid day today.

    Water temperature 69-72
Wind was the new normal (15-20MPH)
Still stained but OK till I got down to the 10MM then was fairly muddy.

Cleaned 9 - nothing big, just good frying size
7 of them still full of mushy eggs??
All were caught in 6' or less of water

Tried a couple of deeper spots, and got nothing.

Good luck to the guys and gals on Truman.

WTG, Mark...if you can't fish at camp this time around, at least you can get out after 'em down there.

    Maybe next camp, eh?

    WTG Mark,
Good to see the water clearing a bit here @ the 13mm. Have not been out lately-busy with a lot of other things. I did get to fish a friend's dock on the Gravois close to where we are building yesterday and caught about 20 crappie.Still several very dark males in about 10-12 feet of water, several 11"-13" females. Caught both black and white crappie in the same brush.Did not keep any, but some looked like they had not dropped their eggs yet. Others appeared to have spawned already. Also caught several shorts.

    Husker
the trick to catch that finnicky speck....
gently set the hook just before the peck
