    Default Crappie on rock piles....

Is this common for them to be on rock piles? We were out prefishing for a bass tourney yesterday and found a "LARGE" school on a few rock piles in 8' of water. I'm still pretty new to crappie fishing and was wondering if this is normal. I threw out a tube on a float that was only set about 2-3' deep and they were coming up from the bottom hitting it. They were very aggresive. I marked the spot because we didn't have much time left to look for bass and I will be headed back out there in the next day or two. I had been fishing for them in a lot lately in the channel but they have already moved out of it. I guess I need to head to my new found spot!!

They're where ever they want to be!!!!!! If the baitfish are there they'll be there.

The whole school was just stacked in around 3 rock piles! I couldn't believe it! I thought that it would take me a while to find them again since they left the channel. All I can say is fish on!! Thanks guys!

Found a rock pile a couple a years ago by accident and it is now my favorite spot for big crappie. Good thing you marked it.
Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it!
