    Default Social Security

    On the news this morning...........
With the down turn of the economy, social security is going to be in the RED
    90% THIS YEAR

Which means the upcoming generations will not have funds
Which means the current retires are going to take a super hit.......

Which means the goverment will have to print more money

Not pleased with the change that people voted for

Yeah, Bernie Madoff gets castigated for his Ponzi scheme but nobody says a word about the government's Ponzi scheme -- Social Security.

I have to laugh at all the people that complain about Social Security. They act like this is a scheme to rip them off. They are so afraid that someone is going to get something for nothing and they aren't. O boo hoo, get over it. Social Security is just an insurance policy, that is all it is. It should be treated like one and that would solve the problem. They should have a cap on it as to who can draw it. For example say $100,000.00. If you make that or more after you retire than your not eligible to collect it. Just like your car or home insurance. You pay into that and never get your money back unless you have an accident or something happens to your house. If the Gov would leave it alone and quit taking money out of it for other programs than it would have been ok. jmo EB

No, it's a transfer payment. Money is taken out of my paycheck and given to someone who has retired. It's a classic example of robbing Peter to pay Paul. It works when you have more "Peters" than "Pauls", but with the baby boomers starting to retire, that situation will end. We will have the same amount of workers paying for more and more retirees.

In my books 'just an insurance policy' is something one voluntarily enters into with an insurer.

But again I repeat myself brutal force and coercion are the staple of all dictatorial tyrants, liberals, and DO-GOODER EXTRADINAR's who think they know better just how the individual should spend his own money.

This is exactly what SSI is... and all the money I pay into it will be gone before I ever become eligible to recieve any.

    Exclamation Soap Box

What it is and it is suppose to be are 2 different things.

The poloticians thru the years could not stand to see it in the "Lock Box" so they had to get it and spend it ... bunch of theives ... If left to grow interest you might consider it an insurance policy or retirement fund ... now it is a supplement that is "in the hole" ...

I have no problem with everyone who has paid into it getting it back when they come of age .. and that is another thing the way they are moving the age up ... Another example of the poloticians changing things and has any one ever seen it be for the better ??? All ways to cover their mistakes or to steal some more another way ......

Off of "Soap Box" could go on & on ..

There will be plenty of other changes the people will not be pleased with before the next election gets here.

Beav, there ya go again. I'm surprised Obammy hasn't called you to head up his Nebraska team. Why would anyone who has paid into the SS system NOT be able to receive benefits in the later years. They paid into it, they earned it. Plain and simple. Now, if the Government would have kept their sticky fingers out of it and ran it like it was intended in the first place, it might have done some good. But the Government can't do that. When will enough, be enough? When will the Government stop taking care of the worthless and let the churches do it as it had always been done? Help those who really truley need it, sure. But it's way past time to kick the freeloaders to the curb. You missed the boat on this one. Once again you prove your intelligence when it comes to economics.
I would love to see the people of Obama be able to take care of each other without STEALING from the person that works for their lifestyle.

Obamas plan is taking this Country straight into the toilet and it's an outright disgrace to the Constitution. I for one wouldn't mind seeing an impeachment process started based on the fact he is doing everything he can to destroy over 200 years of Freedom AND is NOT doing his job as President. One being, "To Uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

If there truly are people who want to live like the Country Obama is setting up for us, MOVE TO VENEZUALA!
