    Default campgrounds closing?????

Got a call from Gary a few minutes ago. He had talked to Richard at Bucksaw. A camper had told him that the campgrounds were going to close on Wed. Nothing confirmed from the COE campgrounds though. Anybody heard anything? I will drive down tommorow and check at the booth to see what is going to happen. Anybody have a backup plan if we need it?

I will find out in the morning. Unless some one has a number they can call to get some information sooner.

Man that sucks. I sure hope it is not true. Everything planned and ready to go and this. Wish I could help, but I know very little about the area.

I vote that we all stay at Dr. Jim's and Beagles campers.:D They are on top of the hill. Maybe the overflow can camp in Jared's yard.

We called the COE 877-444-6777 & as of right now there are no plans to close the campground but there is a lot of campgrounds in the area closing due to high water. What I understand is if it gets in the lagoon they will close the campground. The forecast I have seen doesnt look good -- lots of rain. For us with limited vac time we are going to work this week & If possible come up Friday nite or sat if camp is on. We are not trying to spoil anybodys plan just giving a heads up on the conditions. Believe me we were looking forward to the week. Good luck & see ya all later.

No joke Bob. Just got thru talking to a buddy that works Long Shoals park and as of today they are closed. Bucksaw, he said could possibly closed by the middle of the week but maybe not all of it? It depends on what amount of rain they get in Kansas and of course in the Truman Lake area. They expect Truman Lake to be at 728 by Wed..
