it might not cost that much to send it back and git it profeshionaley fixed . got a humming bird the quit last trip i went on . dried it out and still don`t work . going to send it back to hummingbird . it is 10 years old or close
I have had this on the back burner for awhile, has anyone ever went
into an Eagle Optima or similar - x-75, x-85 and replaced the
back-up lithium battery themselves? It is not a big inconveniance, not
worth sending a 10 yr old sonar back to LEI, but if I could fix it myself...
I was inspired by Moose talking about taking his H-bird apart and fixing the
fogging problem - This is the battery that saves your settings when you
turn it off - Now, I have to go through several pages when I first fire it up,
turning on water temp, turning off fish symbols, turning up sensitivity, on
and on. For the first 7-8 years, it retained all this, the lithium was advertised
as 10 year life - didn't quite make it

retired and now i will always fish
Thanks for the reply, Papa, I think they've got a pretty good minimum
charge though, and with the way UPS charges now, it probably ain't
worth the bother. At least it still works
